Bury Him alive!

Many people, one Bride -
that’s what she was meant to be;
but vainglory and wilfulness,
caused her not to see.

Blindly she stumbled on,
ignoring His pleas;
His outstretched arms of love,
no longer buckled her knees.

Till finally, love turned to hatred,
heart turned to stone;
and she was no longer willing
to bow before His Throne.

Now the King
had conquered the grave;
He could not be killed,
nor be enslaved.

But the people,
meant to be the Bride,
hated His Presence
which exposed their pride.

“Bury Him alive!”,
is what they decided;
by banning and ignoring,
they chose not to abide.

They closed down the Churches
and kicked Him out of schools,
killed those who chose Him,
breaking all His rules.

The Lord sobbed,
His heart broken;
man had turned away by choice,
ignoring the words He’d spoken.

Days on earth grew darker,
as she fell deeper into her mess;
And the Bridegroom watched,
as she refused to confess.

Her wilfulness is gone now,
but oh it’s much too late!
For the enemy is laughing,
as she stands at his gate.

If only she had listened
and responded to His love;
He would have rushed to meet her,
and taken her to His home above.

Hebrews 4:7
“Today, if you hear His voice, do not harden your hearts…”
